Revisiting Love in MKE: Tara + Johnny’s Anniversary Photos

I had the absolute pleasure of reconnecting with Tara and Johnny for some anniversary photos, and it was such a blast! I first photographed their engagement session nine years ago, followed by their beautiful wedding the next summer. We’ve kept in touch on Instagram, and when they told me they were visiting Wisconsin and wanted some updated couple’s portraits, I was all in!

Tara and Johnny wanted to revisit some of the spots from their engagement and wedding days, which I thought was such a sweet idea. Our first stop was the Holton Street Bridge in Brewer's Hill. We made our way around to different locations, and it was wonderful to see them just as in love as they were back then!

Next, we headed to Milwaukee’s Third Ward. This area is packed with charm and has this cool, urban vibe that makes it a favorite for Milwaukee wedding and engagement photographers. We wandered along the RiverWalk and cream city brick, capturing both candid moments and romantic poses.

This session wasn’t just about revisiting old memories; it was about celebrating how far they’ve come. While they’ve had beautiful family photos taken with their two adorable kiddos in Minnesota, they wanted to take an evening to celebrate the two of them and where it all began. It was so heartwarming to see their bond and how much their love has grown since welcoming their kiddos into the world.

As a Milwaukee wedding, engagement, and anniversary photographer, sessions like this are what we’re all about! Tara and Johnny even busted out the perfect spontaneous “Millennial Pose” during our shoot. Nailed it!

Tara and Johnny, thank you for letting me capture your love story once again. It was so great catching up with you both. Here’s to many more years of happiness!

Cheers,
Miranda
